My Crazy Week

This will be a very long post as it has to do with my days last week.

May 2nd we took over a boys hostel,which is right above the English Center,that same night we took over the electricity went out (which happens alot here,by the way) and since no-one turned the generator on right away they 'boys' got very mad and started a riot.  They ran the man out that we had staying there,he literally had to run for his life, and then continued to destroy property. They destroyed the mess hall (cafeteria) and threw wood furniture of all kind,barrels and anything else BIG they could find over into ourL. E.C. open area. Here are a couple of pictures to show you all the mess they did...PTL no-one got hurt and no real damage was done to the L.E.C. that isnt the end of the story just hang on there is more...:)

The morning after this happened Chad and I went to the Center to see the actual damage and this is what we saw..That same morning Chad was leaving for Nepal (the trip was already planned and a much needed trip) so he left for airport 9:30am and left us to get things in order..which we did :)!!!fgvvvvvbh/9 (that was from Derby the pug)..he had to put his 2cents in...LOL...We felt like the police should have been notified,which i was ready to go do,but by others recommendations I did not go and file complaint..(which i am now kicking myself for now doing) Live and Learn!!!!...So the boys settled down and the rest of the day went without any other incident. BUT..there is still more....

The next morning the boys again got mad when me and some of the boys were talking and discussing what we can do to make the transition from old manager to new manager (Chad)..easier.  Then the BIG BOSS guys came into the office and WOW were they mad.  Ok i should probably back up a little..when we took over they were to sign our agreement and pay 1 month advance and May rent to us. They did not want to do that because we had set some rules that they did not want to follow..but we still told them they need to pay us so we can continue to make them food and generator. But NO they said!!!..Ok back to when the BIG BOSS came into office...he came right up to the desk that i was standing behind and said "Who r u?? R u legal?  I said "Of course I am legal what do u mean?"..he wanted to see all papers but i told him "I do not have to show u anything we r here on business visa and yes we r legal" :)..then he continued to holler and talk very very disrespectfully to me..he wanted to know my name and I said "u can just call me mam" I am older than u and that is what they use here in India for respect and women"...He just laughed and continued to show no respect...so i continued in my conversation in telling them what we r planning to do with the hostel (improvments) but they needed to pay May rent then it was quickly getting out of hand so I had a man escort them out of the office..Oh i forgot to say by times end there was about 15 guys in the office..They were yelling to each other and at me so I yelled :) at them to "STOP" and said" u need to get out of the office now..u r not being respectful so u need to leave" They laughed at me and were escorted out then they started a rally outside front the main gate.  There were teachers there so they came into the office and we called the police...they came and talked with the students then to me..but this whole time took 7hrs. Which me,Whitley and the teachers were trapped in the office for.  Any ways i told u this would be a long post :)..so let me wrap this up..basically we had to comply with what the students wanted which was food,water and 24hr. electricity..YES that is right even the police wouldnt do much about the situation. TII-This Is India...and the next day it was in the paper...which of course told wrong info. but TIM-This is Media..LOL..and all of this was while Chad was gone..he got back and now the meetings have started with differant people and all involved.  Right now the Owner is back in control until there Exams finish and they all head home for break then we will start fresh with new and improved property and students!!!!...
